Karva Chauth

Kartik Krishna Chaturthi in the northern purnimant reckoning — the same day southern and western calendars call Ashwin Krishna Chaturthi, since the two systems name the dark fortnight differently. The tithi is settled at moonrise rather than at sunrise, which is the observance's own moment and can move the date by a day against a sunrise-based reading.
