Chaitra Navratri is the nine nights from Chaitra Shukla Pratipada to Navami — the fortnight that opens the lunar year, closing at Rama Navami. It is counted in tithis rather than days, so a tithi that is skipped or repeated can make the run shorter or longer than nine calendar dates. It is one of the two Navratris kept publicly; those in Ashadha and Magha are the gupta ones.

All times are IST, computed for Ujjain. A tithi or nakshatra turns at the same instant everywhere, so your timezone changes only the clock it reads — but a window bounded by the weekday also follows your own sunrise. The app computes both for your city.
