Sankranti is the Sun's entry into a new rashi: twelve a year, about a month apart, and solar rather than lunar, so the dates barely shift from year to year. An ingress after sunset is observed on the following day, which is why the entry time and the observed date can differ.

Dates and end times are IST, computed for Ujjain. The tithi ends at the same instant everywhere and only the clock reading changes with your timezone — though near midnight that can move the date itself. The app computes these for your city.
