Panchak is the stretch with the Moon in Kumbha or Meena — equivalently, from the second half of Dhanishtha through Revati, since Dhanishtha's midpoint is exactly the Kumbha cusp. It comes round about every 27 days and lasts roughly five, which is where the name comes from. Five specific acts are avoided in it — roofing a house, gathering fuel, making a bed, travelling south, and cremation without the prescribed rites — rather than auspicious work in general.

All times are IST, computed for Ujjain. A tithi or nakshatra turns at the same instant everywhere, so your timezone changes only the clock it reads — but a window bounded by the weekday also follows your own sunrise. The app computes both for your city.
